　　Drawing on social network theory and the entrepreneurship literature,we examine a sole founders personal network and its relationships with the founders decision making as well as the new ventures strategic capability.With the data of 152 sole founders from hi-tech new ventures in China,we found a sole founders network diversity,job-relatedness and interconnectedness were positively associated with the founders quality of decision making.Moreover,these associations vary along the sole founders prior founding experience and prior functional experience.Finally,a sole founders decision quality was found partially mediate in the association between the founders network and the new ventures strategic capability.This research provides evidence to the social network theory by examining the individual social network in the context of sole founders and their implications to decision making and firm strategy.
