The development of new varieties and the large amount of nitrogen fertilizer input make the grain production growth rate keep in step with the world population growth rate.However, there was a significant difference in the nitrogen efficiency of wheat varieties bred in different years under different nitrogen conditions, but the mechanism underlying it was not clear.Revealing this mechanism is significant for the breeding of high efficiency wheat varieties, which is suitable for low input and sustainable agriculture.
