An increasing number of guidelines for green building development have been fashioned without much post-publication comparisons of the commonalities between each or consideration of common visions for sustainability.This can cause confusion for key players on building development projects and various jurisdictions as they are unsure about which publication to follow.In response to this problem, this presentation provides an in-depth comparative study of the key guidelines: (1) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ("LEED");(2) CalGreen;(3) ASHRAE Standard 189.1 ("Standard 189.1");and (4) International Green Construction Code ("IGCC").This work was in collaboration with Arup, through their Investment Research Fund.
