MR diffusion imaging has found many clinical applications in brain tumor patients,mainly in the mapping of white matter tracts for neurosurgical planning and the assessment of tumor response to therapy.In this presentation,we will discuss the potential application (and its usefulness) of quantitative MR diffusion imaging in the assessment of short and long term radiation therapy effect (for both proton and photon) on the surrounding normal tissues.We will present some results of a longitudinal MR diffusion study on some brain tumor cases.
