The preQ1 riboswitch was found in the 5UTR of bacterial genes involved in synthesis of the queuosine precursor preQ1.Comparing with other natural metabolite-binding RNAs,the preQ1 riboswitch aptamer has a simple but highly ordered pseudoknot structure.The pseudoknot in preQ1 aptamer not only contribute to the tertiary interactions that stabilize the whole RNA structure but also play an important role in the regulation process of gene expression.
