This paper is focused on the ternary Mg-Sr-Y system.Based on the thermodynamic calculations extrapolated from the corresponding binary sub-systems,thirteen alloys in Mg-Sr-Y system were selected and prepared using a powder metallurgy method to measure the isothermal sections at 400oC.The isothermal section at 400℃ for the Mg-Sr-Y system has been determined by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM/EDX).No ternary compound has been observed in this work.Eight three-phase regions have been determined.
