Quaternary carbon centers, as important structural motifs, broadly exist in natural products and pharmaceutical molecules, and the construction of these stereocenters remains a challenging project1.As a type of useful transformation, semipinacol rearrangement reactions provide lots of practical strategies towards the formation of these units1.In connection with our longstanding effort in the development of novel rearrangement reactions, some interesting methodologies for the installment of the quaternary carbon center and their applications in the syntheses of some natural products will be presented2-4.
