Space scientific experiments demand a high-reliability,large-capacity and high-performance storage system in order to store large data quickly.However,as storage capacity increases moderately,the cost of storage device increases dramatically.In this paper,we propose a high-speed,high-reliability and low-cost data storage system by using COTS(Commercial On-The-Shelf)technology.By screening and Evaluation,COTS memory chips have been widely used in this system.Parallel pipe line technology was used to provide the good performance in data transfer rate.DSP and FPGA device were used for memory chip matrix management and efficient error correction coding.The significant advantage of this system is high-speed,high-reliability,low-cost and easy to access.The storage capacity of this system is up to2Tbits,and the access rates is up to 1.2Gbps.The cost of this system is only half of conventional storage system with same storage capacity.This system also has passed through environmental experiment,and has been successfully applied in some spacecrafts.
