Two common algae (Skeletonema costatum, Prorocentrum donghaiense), which were the chief criminals of the red tide, were taken as our test objects. This paper studied the nitrate reductase activity (NRA) of these algae, their growth and the relation between NRA and the algas growth under different temperatures, through which we expected to an alyze the characteristics of the algaes growth under different temperatures in order to help illuminate the effects of temperature during the rising and ebbing of the red tide in East Sea.
