Objective: The reference gene is commomly used as the most reliable approach to normalize real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and to reduce errors in the relative quantification of gene expression. Many reference genes belonging to various functional classes have been identified for different species and different tissues. However, little is known about the most suitable reference genes in bone especially the mandibular condyle of sheep.Though sheep play an important role in the study of human bone diseases, especially the study related to temporomandibular diseases. So the aim of this study was to identify a set of reference genes for normalizing qPCR from the mandibular condyle of sheep.
