This paper presents adynamic response analysis method for astructure having a one-dimensional periodicity rested on a half-space subjected to incident elastic waves.By virtue of the Floquet principle,the present problem is reduced to a dynamic problem of a unit region defined by the periodicity.However,since the unit sub-region still has infinity in both directions of the depth and perpendicular to the periodic-ward,an impedance matrix(dynamic equivalent stiffness)which represents the wave transmission to the external semi-infinite region is derived.To this end,the Floquet transformwith respect to a length which can cover the impedanceboundary is appliedto the perpendicular direction.
