Digital PCR works by separating a single PCR mixture into hundreds or even thousands of individual PCR reactions so that only a fraction of the reactions contain one or more copies of the target sequence [1, 2].PCR products will be generated in these reactions and can therefore be detected by the probe-based or intercalating dye-based chemistry.By counting the number of positive reactions, researchers can accurately estimate the concentration of target molecules in the sample.
