Preparation of MoS2/C/SiO2 hybrid macroporous monolith for lithium ion battery

  The macroporous SiO2 coated with MoS2 and C flakes are prepared via a two-step process, including a sol-gel route to prepare macroporous SiO2 monolith and the following hydrothermal process assisted by CTAB to coat MoS2 and C on the SiO2 skeletons.The microstructure and electrochemical performancesof hybrid macroporous monolith were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, Raman spectrum analysis (Raman), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis andelectrochemical experiments.The results show that macroporous SiO2 monolith has continuous skeleton structures, high specific surface areas and high porosity, whichis a desired matrix for MoS2 and C growth.MoS2 and C derived from glucose are uniformly coated on the skeleton of SiO2 under the connection effect of CTAB.With the synergistic effect of ternary MoS2/C/SiO2, the hybrid monolith shows large reversible capacity and good cycle stability aslithium ion battery anode.
