Pepper phytophthora blight caused by Phytophthora capsici give rise to severe yield loss in China.Employing antagonistic bacteria to control the disease is considered as a promising way to reduce the residues of chemical fungicides in crops and the environment.More than 10000 bacterial isolates were obtained from the rhizosphere soils of vegetables collected from the farmland of seven provinces including Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Fujian, Henan and Jiangsu.Using P.capsici as the target pathogen, 802 strains showing obvious inhibition band were selected.From these strains, 62 strains were found to be strongly inhibiting to Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis cinerea and Pythium aphanidermatum as well.The protection capacity against P.capsici of these 62 strains was evaluated by pot experiment in greenhouse condition.Results showed that the control effects of 6 strains were higher than 70% , and that of the strain TB1340 was 82%.Strain TB1340 is relatively stronger than the others in producing chitinase, cellulase and β-1, 3-glucanase.By 16S rRNA sequence analysis and morphology observation,strain TB1340 was preliminarily identified as Bacillus sp.
