Silver nanoclusters (<2nm), consist of several to hundreds atoms, exhibit strong fluorescence.Compare to fluorescent cadmium telluride semiconducting quantum dots, silver nanochsters are more biocompatible, which makes silver nanoclusters have great potential in biolabeling, bioimaging and chemo/biosensing.To excavate potential applications of silver nanoclusters, preparation of monodispersed, stable and water soluble silver nanoclusters is essential.1 At present, water-soluble silver nanoclusters were mostly synthesized by using DNA templates or polyelectrolyte as stabilized agents.
