家禽能将禽流感(比如H5NI,H5N6和N7N9)传染给人类,而综合市场的活禽交易区是禽流感传播的重要场所之一.本研究选择了广州市的一家典型的综合市场,在市场内部采用NIOSH旋风分离器采集空气样本并做定量的RT-PCR分析,以评估禽流感空气传播的可能性.多数样本中都检测到禽流感病毒M基因,且主要从大于1微米的颗粒物中检出.鸡舍中的流感病毒M基因浓度高达4.4×107拷贝/立方米;活禽交易区下风向100米远处的流感病毒M基因的浓度也高达2.7×106拷贝/立方米.家禽18s RNA浓度更高(高达2.6×1010拷贝/立方米),可在禽流感爆发期间作为禽流感病毒浓度的重要指标.空气流体动力学(CFD)模拟可以作为禽流感病毒扩散的有效研究工具,揭示了风向和周边建筑在禽流感病毒扩散过程中的共同作用.
