The monitoring of dust storm occurrence over western oak forests is important issue, because dust and oak decline have increased in recent years.The aim of this study is the investigation of MODIS AOD ability to monitor dust over the oak forest regions.The 10 year weather stations data of Lorestan province and MODIS AOD at 550 nm were used.The results show that correlation between AOD and visibility has a good performance in Aleshtar, Eman Abad, Noorabad, Boroojerd and Rymaleh stations.Exponential regression model has good significant over AOD and visibility.data relation.MODIS AOD, in dark object algorithm, at 550 nm has suitable ability to monitor the dust in oak forest regions, generally.
