Epoxy acrylate was modified with tetraethoxysilane and the modified epoxy acrylate were UV-moisture dually cured under ambient conditions. The structures of the cured coatings were analyzed with FT-IR spectrometer and the properties were investigated. Tetraethoxysilane reacted with the hydroxyl groups of epoxy acrylate and siloxane groups attached to the epoxy acrylate. After modification the viscosity of the epoxy acrylate decreased up to 80 %. Moisture curing introduced additional SiO2 cross-linkage to the UV cured coatings and enhanced the hardness, adhesion, wearing resistance, hydrophobility and thermal stability of the dually cured coatings.
