In recent years great effort has been put into THz technology research area due to the gradually scarce spectrum resources.Broadband absorber in terahertz frequency domain shows its great significance in energy harvesting and spectrum detection applications.Based on the metamaterial design concept, a new multi-layer structure with square gird unit cells is proposed in this paper to enormously expand the absorption bandwidth.Greater than 90% absorption is achieved across a frequency range of 1.75 THz, from 3.25 THz to 5 THz.The influence of geometric parameters changing of the proposed structure on absorption frequency domain was simulated with the CST Microwave Studio simulation platform software.This multi-layer metamaterial structure has the advantages of simple structure, ultra-broadband absorption frequency domain,and a mature and stable manufacturing process.Therefore, this metamaterial absorber and the corresponding design method can promote the terahertz technology's application in Wireless THz communication Area.
