In this talk,I will describe our new approach to detect an d image ROSs through inorganic-organic upconversion nanophosphors(Figure 1).This t ype of probes can be used not onl y for ratiometric UCL monitoring of the generation of ROS/RSS in living cells,but also to identify the risk in biosystems through ratiometric UCL imaging of tissue.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first example of RSS or ROS detection by using ratiometric UCL probes.Significantly,these novel ratiometric UCL nanoprobe as well as new design concept based on inor ganic-organic integration will be helpful in further development of the next-generation imaging technique for ROS/RSS without background noise,remarkable light penetration depth,and no photo-bleaching,which enable us to better clarifies its physiological roles.
