In the past decade, a number of modeling methods had been developed for flexible multibody systems to overcome the shortcomings of traditional linear model.In the present paper, modeling of an extendable flexible structure undergoing large overall motion is investigated.The coupling deformation terms are taken into count based on geometric nonlinear elastic theory and finite element technique.Numerical simulation examples are carded out to demonstrate validity of this dynamic model and analyze the dynamic behaviour of the extendable flexible structure.
