Food safety is a hot point on the world,and including in PR China.The Chinese government has enhanced her food control system to protect consumption confidence for consumer.Food traceability means the ability to trace the history,application or location of an entity by means of recorded information (ISO 8402:1994),and it is an efficiency treatment for food safety management.The feasibility of food tracing is studied in many countries,and also in China.The paper will introduce the research results,experiences and problems of animal and vegetable food tracing by isotopic,mineral and MIR prints in last 5 years,discuss the possibility and factuality for practice,and recommend one or more useful and economical tracing techniques for food safety control.
