The aim of this article is to examine the toxic effects of hexabromocyclododecanes(HBCDs) on astrocytes primary culture and conditional culture solution of HBCDs-treated astrocytes on the survival of neurons, to make clear the mechanism of HBCDs toxicity on the neural development.The cell viability was detected by WST-1 method and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay.The possible action mechanism was investigated via detecting apoptosis by PI/Hochest33258 staining, Bcl-2 and Bax protein expression by ELISA, caspase-3 activation and mitochondrial membrane potential by immunofluorescence,caspase-3 mRNA expression by PCR method.
