Novel self-assemble peony-like 3-D copper hydroxyl-phosphate(Cu2(OH)PO4)were synthesized by a solution-growth method on the copper foil. The ordered self-aggregate peony-like 3-D Cu2(OH)PO4 flowers with the diameter size up to 30 μm are composed of hundreds of anisotropic grown cross-linking interlobate 2-D petals with several micrometers wide and 110-170 nm thick.By means of field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),the morphology changes and the final formation of the peony-like Cu2(OH)PO4 products have been analyzed in detail. The possible growth process of Cu2(OH)PO4 flowers and the relationship between the shape of Cu2(OH)PO4 nanostructure and the activity for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical response under visible light irradiation have also been investigated.
