Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for Selective Adsorption and Separation

　　Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of newly-developed porous materials constructed by organic ligand linkers bridging metal ion (or cluster) nodes.These inorganic-organic hybrid materials have been studied extensively in recent years for their record high surface areas,tunable structures and pore properties,thereby a wide range of related potential applications [1].Most research in this context has been devoted to gas selective adsorption and separations,with rapidly increasing reports on liquid-phase separation and purification [1].Advantages that MOFs bring to these applications are the possibility of tuning pore size/shape and introducing surface functionality,thus imparting desired chemical and physical properties to the materials.In this presentation,we introduce our recent works in the design and synthesis of MOFs and metal-organic polyhedra (MOPs,the building units of MOFs) [2],their performances in gas selective adsorption [3] and dyes adsorption/separation from water,as well as MOFs-based membrane for alcohol/water separation and nanofiltration (Figure 1)
