Hernioscopy is laparoscopy traversing a hernial sac into peritoneal cavity for diagnosis or therapy adopted in the course of open inguinal herniorraphy.Up to now, Hernioscopy is mainly used to inspect intra-abdominal contents and thus prevent the necrotic bowel left in peritoneal cavity or unnecessary laparotomy in incarcerated hernias if the incarcerated contents reduced spontaneously in general anaesthesia.
