Deterioration of steel cable-stayed bridges is often found in stay cables,steel girders and foundations.Structural durability problems mainly contain fatigue and erosion of the cables and steel girders,scour and displacement of the foundations.Due to small weight and high flexibility,steel cable-stayed structures are vulnerable to external forces such as strong wind and ship impact,which are both important facts concerning the safety of cable-stayed structures.
