Introduction: Trolox with potent antioxidant properties, would be against the responses of the ubiquitin proteasome pathway (UPP) to oxidative stress after exercise.Method: 42 Male SD rats were randomly dividede into two groups, control group (C;n=24) injected with PBS (i.p.), and the supplement group (T;n=18), injected with Tolox (30 mg/kg.w, i.p.), both at 1 h prior to exercise.6 rats from C group was killed for the quiet control before exercise, the others ran on the treadmill for l hour (25 m/min, 5% slope) and 6 rats were killed after exercise in each group.The content of 3-MH and MDA, gene expression of MuRF1 and MAFbx, activitiy of 26S proteasomes were assayed in gastrocnemius.Results: These indexes were increased significantly after exercise than rest (P<0.05), and than in T group (P<0.05).Conclusion: Trolox attenuate oxidative stress, which could decrease activity of UPP and protein degradation in skeletal muscle after an acute exercise.
