Purpose:This study aimed to evaluate the reliability of hepatic fat fractions measurement using mDIXON-quant imaging method. Methods:A total of 31 volunteers (15 males and 16 females, mean age, 30.74±8.46 years) were included in this study. All subjects underwent liver mDIXON-quant MR imaging on a 3.0 T MR scanner (Ingenia, Philips, Healthcare, Best, the Netherlands) by an experienced radiologist, and this examination were repeated by another experienced radiologist within 2 weeks. mDIXON is a 3DFFE with multiple acquired echoes was used, generating water, fat as well as in-phase and opposed-phase images synthesized from the water-fat images. Scan parameters are as follows:TR, 6.2 ms; TE1, 0.95ms; 6echos with delta TE 0.8ms; FOV 360 × 330 mm × 120 mm, FA=3°, resolution=2.5×2.5×3.0, SENSE=2, NSA=2, Scantime=12.5ms. After MRI acquisition, we measured hepatic fat fraction from 6 ROIs on the transverse sections through the right hepatic portal vein and below second porta hepatics. Each radiologist independently measured hepatic fat content, and after 2 weeks we repeated the same measurements and they were blinded to their previous results. Reliability was estimated by evaluating the repeatability of the intra-observer agreement for the two measurements by the same observer and the reproducibility of the inter-observer agreement for the measurements by the two observers for each subject. Spearmans correlation, intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were applied to confirm the reliability of the mDIXON-quant imaging method in measuring hepatic fat fraction, using IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 (Armonk, New York, USA).
