  Nanometer-sized noble metals,especially gold and silver,have been of an attractive research field because of their size- and shape-dependent colors and optical properties.Due to their facile synthesis,ease of functionalization and organization,biocompatibility,and inherent low toxicity,they showed potential applications in the fields of biomedical diagnostics,catalysis,optical devices,and so on.In this topic,we will present our recent work on the anisotropic growth of gold and silver nanostructure through wet-chemical approaches such as polyol process and hydrothermal method.
