Based on the Reynolds Stress Model(RSM),numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer mechanism of helium in smooth and corrugated tubes are presented in this article.The distribution characteristics of parameters including velocity,temperature,turbulence kinetic energy and Reynolds stress of 7 cross-sections of a wave are detailed to study the turbulence flow and heat transfer in the corrugated tube.In the wave,the near wall boundary layer of the downstream region is destroyed,thereby generating more effective results of heat transfer.The overall friction factor in the corrugated tube which is determined by the Reynolds stress is higher than that of the smooth tube.The Reynolds stress increases mainly in the neighboring area and more obviously in the central area,and the peak values appear in the expanding and necking areas of the wave,however,the increase is slight in the main stream area in the corrugated tube.
