Thyroid hormone receptors (TRs) are becoming an important target in enⅥronmental toxicityresearch .Chemicals may entry and release from the ligand binding domain (LBD) of TR Ⅵamultiple pathways.
TRs were recently reported to heterodimerize with retinoid X receptor (RXR), and theTRa-RXR heterodimer alters the binding and dissociation kinetics of triiodothyronine (T3).However,the effects of TR heterodimerization on the T3 dissociation pathways have not beenelucidated. Many environmental pollutants are structurally similar to T3 and have beendemonstrated to bind to TRs. Exploring the dissociation of T3 from the TRa-RXR LBD heterodimerwill provide the essential framework for studying the dissociation of exogenous chemicals.
