Leaf blight is caused by Phomopsis obscurans.The fungus can infect foliage, runners,petioles, but it cant infect fruit or root.Leaf blight is commonly found on plants after harvest.Leaf lesions start as circular spots that are similar to that of leaf spot disease of strawberry;however, young lesions caused by Phomopsis obscurans often have a reddish halo that is not present on leaf spot lesions.As the disease progresses, irregular, often circular, zones in a lesion may form.Typically, there are three zones in a lesion : a dark brown center with a purple border.
