　　Background Vacuum phenomenon(VP)is a relatively common condition characterized by the accumulation of gas in the degenerative intervertebral disc without certain symptoms.However,the migration of gas into the spinal canal is quite rare,once the nerve root and the dural sac are compressed by the accumulation of migrated gas,a series of clinical symptoms may develop which is much similar to the lumbosacral radiculopathy.
