China has conducted four rounds of National Nutrition Survey or National Nutrition and Health Surveillance in 1959,1982,1992 and 2002 respectively.The investigation results and data information plays a positive role in understanding residents dietary structure,nutrition level,clinical and epidemic characteristics and change rules of nutrition-related chronic diseases; evaluating the nutrition and health status of the urban and rural population in our country; making relative policies and disease prevention measures.It also provides basic data for Outline of the Program for Food and Nutrition Development in China,Chinese Dietary Reference Intakes,and Chinese Dietary Guidelines,etc.This article makes a comparative analysis on samples,contents and methods of the 1959,1982,1992,2002 National Nutrition Survey and the 2010-2013 National Nutrition and Health Surveillance,which provides support to related investigations and researches in future.
