Suitable pump scheduling model is vital to the precision of optimal control,we build the simplified model of water supply system consist of variable speed pumps.The operations of the pumps consume significantly high amount of electric energy of water supply system.Studying the principles of water pumps with frequency control to achieve power saving,we approach Genetic Algorithm(GA)to create an optimal pump schedule,which can minimize the cost of electricity and satisfy the constraints of pressure,flow,speed and so on in real water network.The experimental results show that pump optimal operation can reduce electricity energy effectively,and GA is an effective tool for solving complex scheduling problems.
