Hydrothermal reactions of NH4VO3, WO3, MC12(M=Co, Ni and Mn) and 4,4-bipyridine yields novel organic-inorganic hybrid compounds, Co(V2W4O19)(bpy)(Hbpy)2 (1),Ni(V2W4Ol9)(bpy)(Hbpy)2(2) and Mn(V2W4O19)(bpy)(Hbpy)2 (3).In the crystals, each M(Ⅱ) is six-coordinated by two oxygen atoms from two [V2W4O19]4-and two nitrogen atoms from two bidentate bpy ligands and two nitrogen atoms from two protonated and terminal bpy ligands respectively.It was found that compound (1), (2) and (3) has optical energy gap of 2.3 eV, 2.1 eV and 2.3 eV respectively from UV-Vis-NIR diffuse reflectance spectrum.
