Mixed oxygen ion and electron conducting mem-branes have attracted increasing interest in the last dec-ades due to their potential applications in pure oxygen separation, as membrane reactors for the conversion of hydrocarbons and in solid oxide fuel cells.So far, main-ly disk-shaped membranes with a limited membrane area (<5 cm2) were employed because they can be easily fabricated by a conventional pressing method.
