A new series of liquid crystal dimmer possessing azobenzene were synthesized and applied to blue phase (BP).The special structure of dimmer can stable blue phase and broaden the BP temperature range.What’s more,the trans-cis photoisomerization of azobenzene deforms can result to the lattice constant of BP change reversibly when irradiated by UV and visible light.
