Postharvest losses of fruit and vegetables cause huge economic losses every year.Longer shelf life,associated with slower fruit softening,maintained integrity of stored fruit,ease of transportation and resistance to post-harvest pathogens,is probably the most important trait for commercially-grown tomatoes.
