Na2SO3 is evaluated as a film-forming additive in lithium-ion batteries.Effects of different amount of Na2SO3 on the electrochemical performances of graphite electrode in 1 mol/L LiPF6/EC+DMC electrolyte were investigated by charge-discharge experiments,CV and EIS measurements. It is found that the cyclic performance of graphite electrode is improved in the electrolyte with Na2SO3.The charge/discharge and CV results showed that the electrochemical performance of the graphite electrode was improved owing to the fact that the double electronic reduction of EC during the first lithiation process was largely suppressed by adding Na2SO3.EIS results illustrated that the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) film resistance decreased and was steady, which contributed most to the better electrode performance.Honghe Zheng pointed out that FTIR analysis and scanning electron microscopy indicate that adding a certain amount of Na2SO3 in the dynamics of Li+ mobility contributes to the foamation of a good SEI film.
