In this talk,I will talk about our work on the long time existence of small solutions,for a class of semi-linear wave equations with nonlinearities of the form |u|^q+|u_t|^p,with p,q>1,which is in relation with both the Strauss conjecture and the Glassey conjecture.We determine the full region of(p,q)to admit global existence of small solutions,when the spatial dimension is not bigger than three.In addition,when n=2,3,4,and p,q>=2,we obtain the sharp estimate of the lifespan,except some borderline case.It is based on the joint work with KunioHidano and KazuyoshiYokoyama,and a recent work with Hao Zhou.
