Purpose:To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of functional disability in the elderly population.Methods:With stratified randomized systematic cluster sampling of households through out the Tainan city,the oldest city of southern Taiwan,a total of 1438 elderly aged 65 years were included from November 2000 to May 2001.
