As a new type of energy storage devices with rapid development momentum,lithium ion batteries(LIBs)alleviates the dependence on fossil fuels in energy field and reduces the increasingly severe environmental pressure.A large number of spent lithium ion batteries are not only hazardous waste,but also resources with high added value.Therefore,it is of great challenge and practical significance of realize high-efficient recycling and reuse of spent lithium ion batteries with progressively diversified components through innovation and combination of different technical means.In the pretreatment process,the technical means and requirements of a series of processes such as deactivation and discharge,dismantling and classification,crushing and sieving,separation process,acid leaching and impurity removal are carried out.Compared with pyrometallurgical process,leaching as a form of hydrometallurgy was used in many researches to fully dissolve value metals using HNO3,H2SO4,HCl leaching agent and H2O2 as reducing agent able to achieve higher recovery efficiency at first.Some mild organic acids and bioleaching have attracted more attentions in recent years.The typical ideas of reuse from three aspects are put forward and the advantages and disadvantages of various techniques in the process of material regeneration,structural repair and re-synthesis cathode materials are analyzed.In addition,the harmless treatment and recovery of spent electrolyte are of great environmental significance,especially the application of supercritical CO2 extraction process.The outlook in view of the existing problems at present stage provides references for subsequent research and industrial application of spent lithium ion battery recycling.
