This paper presents an extensive investigation regarding the critical contributing factors of pedestrian violations,based on field observation of 15,090 samples at 14 roadway segments in Shanghai,China.Results of independent variable correlation analysis show that the road surrounding land use is correlated with other factors such as traffic volume,the presence of side divider,and the interval between crossings.
