OBJECTIVE: To understand the epidemiology of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the elderly and to find the risk factors for NAFLD.METHODS: Eight hundred and five elderly people with the age ranging from 60 to 92 years old in our Medical center in 2013 were selected.Each consenting elderly people underwent a detailed medical history-taking, physical examination, laboratory assessment and liver ultrasonographic scan.Two-sample t-test, Man-Whitney U-test and multivariate regression analysis were used to analyze the data.
