The locus coeruleus (LC) is a prominent noradrenergic nucleus in central nervous system and involved in various physiological and pathological processes including sleep/arousal,depression and anxiety.Neuropeptide galanin (GAL) and its three G protein-coupled receptors (GalR1–3) are widely distributed in the nervous systems,plays an important role in anxiety and depression like behavior.
