@@ Water - based paints have attracted more and more interest in almost every application area. Acrylic resin paint is highlighted and has been used widely, especially in automobile and architecture market. It is largely because of its better weather- resistance, chemical - resistance, higher gloss and better adhesion, longer durable and photic stability. Water - based acrylic paint not only has these advantages but also reduces volatile organic compound (VOC) greatly. Water- borne thermosetting acrylic resin containing hydroxyl and carboxyl may be cured with melamine resin and polyisocyanate to form acrylic - amino baked paint[1-3] and two - component water - based acrylic polyurethane painr[4], respectively.The water-solubility of acrylic resin is key to these two paints. Some literature [5-8] had studied the behave of acrylic resin containing carboxyl group and thus res礚ted coatings, but the water - solubility of acrylic resin containing hydroxyl group and carboxyl group was not investigated profoundly, and the content of hydroxyl and carboxyl of acrylic resin is very crucial to coating performance.
