Inclusion of three new public collections into the Belgian Coordinated Collection of Microorganisms

In February 2011, the BCCM consortium integrated 3 new collections and extended its diversity with mycobacteria, diatoms and cyanobacteria.In May 2011, the new collections successfully underwent an ISO9001 evaluation of their QMS (scope: public deposition and distribution of strains) that was confirmed annually since then.The fast and successful implementation of a QMS was made possible by the involvement of the whole BCCM consortium to help the new collections.
