　　Hot compressed steam was employed as environmental friendly media for degradation of cellulose into furan derivatives(5-hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural)under the temperature of 250-330℃ and pressure of 0.5-3.5MPa.Degradation of cellulose in hot compressed steam was proved to be a process containing hydrolysis and pyrolysis.
